Kevin Molloy
Based at Tallinn University, Kevin Molloy is currently conducting his Phd research as a Junior Research Fellow at the European Horizon Twinning Project ‘A Critical Relational Perspective on Peace & Security in CEE’. He is also an English Language Lecturer at the School of Humanities.
As an anthropologist and filmmaker, audiovisual research methods serve as the foundation for his academic approach, contributing to films screened at over 20 film festivals and conferences worldwide. His ongoing research focuses on how everyday acts of socio-cultural bordering (re)create insecurities and threaten social cohesion.
His most recent work, ‘Moments in an Ordinary Night,’ a 360 Degree Audiovisual Installation currently on show at The Estonian National Museum (“Kellele kuulub öö?” exhibition), explores how people have experienced the night in Estonian cities in the past and delves into the multitude of meanings of the contemporary night, and will run until February 2025.
